Ebonyi Police Arrest Nursing Mother, Hospital Staffs For Allegedly Selling Newborn Babies

A Single nursing mother named Ndidiamaka Enyinta Emeka from Izzi, Local Govt Area Ebonyi State has been arrested by Police for selling her newborn baby boy with the sum of N400,000
It was gathered that the suspect, Ndidiamaka, told members of her family that she lost the baby during birth delivery, but her family members doubted her story.
According to the Ebonyi Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Loveth Odah, who confirmed the arrest, to the newsmen in Abakaliki, said the suspect was arrested on December 10th, 2021 alongside two other culprits who connived with her to commit the crime.
The police, disclosed that they have recovered the two-week-old baby and another baby also sold out by another parents
Odah added that staff of Alex Ekwueme Teaching Hospital were also arrested in connection with the case.
Odah further said the Commissioner of Police in the State, Aliyu Garba, has directed that the babies be accorded proper medical care and custody in a government facility while the discreet investigation continues.
She said “the CP, vowed to prosecute anyone who is indicted in the case
