The Ogun State Public Works Agency (OGPWA), has commenced repairs of all dilapidated roads network across the books and crannies of the Three Senatorial District of the state, before the entrance of the rainy season.
The General Manager of the Agency, Arch. Gbenga Akintola made this known during an interactive session with Journalists in Abeokuta, the state capital.
He noted that the process was imperative and in line with present administration to repair all roads network, that is beckoning for attention, noting that it was a resolved to continuing ease the stress passing through by the general public.
He said that it would be continually done in the State in order to make the State a deserving place to live in, saying that many areas would be repaired during the exercise.
“Indeed, the road repair project will be a continuous process, which will constantly cut across the Three Senatorial District of the State, no place will be left untouched in the exercise.
“As you can see that filling of potholes and road patching have already completed in our road network in Abeokuta, areas like; Kuto Market, Isabo/Oke-Yeke roads and Nawarudeen had been completed, also areas like; Obasanjo/Ita-Iyalode roads, Ija-Ofa to Oluwo’s Palace have been repaired, while Sabo and Sogbala Street will also done in the first phase of the exercise,” Akintola said
He said that in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun East Senatorial District, areas like Idobi, Oke-Aje, Luba, Erunwon junction have been duly completed, noting that Tam Balogun GRA road to TASUED Secondary School junction have been done for the peoples’ usage.
He added that the dreaded Awokoya Isale, Banjoko to Mosun café road were equally repaired and now motorable, noting that all the drainages in those areas were desited.
While, in Ogun West District, Akintola said that Sola Oguntade Street, in Ayetoro, Yewa Areawere repaired saying that Tunde Ibikunle road, in Ilaro, Iganmode Grammar School road have also been repaired including Ota road.
He, however, enjoined the Ogun residents to be wary of act that could sabotage the efforts of the State government, especially in road construction and maintenance, saying that littering the drains with debris, operating of car wash facility without a recourse to were water would flow into and pouring of engine oil on the asphalted road should be averted.
He added that the underlisted is not exhaustive as anything that could jeopardize the lifespan of the roads, assuring the general public that anxious about getting their roads done should exercise patient, as it would soon be there turn.
