Ekiti Government Procures Laptop Computers For Health Workers
As part of efforts to strengthen the state health system and reduce preventable deaths, the Government of Ekiti state recently encouraged health workers in the state to continually push boundaries to deliver quality health services.
The Commissioner for Health and Human Services Dr. Oyebanji Filani encouraged the health workers during the presentation of laptops to more than 20 Medical Officers. The laptops were donated to facilitate accurate monitoring and evaluation of data across all cascades of care while enhancing productivity.
He notably mentioned that the state would soon commence routine training of health workers alongside the renovation of facilities and procurement of new equipment and drugs across the state. He said:
“It is no longer acceptable to be turned back from any of our facilities for lack of drugs or vaccines. The drugs and solar refrigerators recently distributed to facilities are to ensure consistent availability at all times”.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health and Human Services Mr Akinjide Akinleye encouraged the beneficiaries to see the laptops as motivation to be more dedicated to their duties, stating:
“To whom much is given much is expected “
The Permanent Secretary also appealed to all health workers in the state to cultivate the habit of properly maintaining all work equipment provided by government to prevent waste of resources.
Dr. Taiwo Akolawole and Mrs Mercy Badegboyega who spoke on behalf of the House Officers, appreciated the state government and the Commissioner for Health for the gesture, noting that it is a great motivation for them to deliver on their duties.
