110 People Benefited From Oyetola Free Medical Surgery

No fewer than One hundred and ten people have benefited in a-day Free Medical Surgery sponsored by the wife of Osun State governor, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola to commemorate her birthday

The event that held Tuesday at Comprehensive Health Centre, Iragbiji, in Boripe local government area of Osun State was organised by Mrs Oyetola’s pet project, IleriOluwa Development Initiative. (IOD – Initiative).

Speaking, Mrs Oyetola urges Nigerians especially the privileged ones to assist the vulnerable ones especially women, the aged and children with medical intervention to bring succour to those ones living in sorrow because of health challenges.

She recalled that not too long ago, IOD-Initiative carried out a bundle of social intervention programs in the area of promoting food security and social safety for women in the Agricultural sector.

According to her the program-bundle consist of training of women engaged in vegetable farming on modern techniques of enhancing productivity in their farms adding that it was followed up with the provision of improved seedlings for cultivation this farming season.

“The feedback from these women has been very encouraging and I am happy that they have been very dedicated in ensuring that the scheme becomes a major success. The second circle of the program is expected to take off mid- year.

“Today’s program is in line with the social protection mission of IOD-Initiative. We are all familiar with the saying that Ilera l’oro meaning health is wealth. We are of the conviction in IOD-Initiative that in the provision of health, no one, I mean none of the people of our great state should be left unserved.

“We are determined to follow this doggedly especially for the benefit of our women and children”.

Also speaking, Dr. Simeon Afolayan, President Hope Float Initiative disclosed that Osun state government will before the month of March runs out begin a free weekly surgery operations that will bring Relief to many people facing various health challenges that requires surgery.

He noted that the IOD-Initiative medical intervention will be a tip of the iceberg to the massive intervention in pipeline by the Governor Gboyega Oyetola administration.
