Internet Fraudster Kills Wife’s Alleged Secret Lover In Ogun

Men of the Ogun state police command have arrested a 25-years old man identified as Ajibade Olumuyiwa for killing a man suspected to be having love affairs with his wife.

The suspect, who is alleged to be an expert Internet fraudster popularly called “Yahoo boy”, allegedly beat the deceased, identified as Olakiitan Balogun severally before hitting his head against the wall which later led to his death.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident to journalists on Wednesday in Abeokuta, the state capital, said the sad incident happened last Sunday 17th March, around 1: 45a.m of  at Doland Estate in Ajuwon axis of Ifo local government area of the state.

Oyeyemi in a release which he later issued, explained that Olumuyiwa had detailed the gateman to the estate to be monitoring activities around his wife and mother of two whom he had abandoned for more than eight (8) months.

” On interrogation, he explained that he came to his house at about 12: 30 midnight on the fateful day and met the deceased right inside the house with his wife, this infuriated him and he started beating the man and hit his head against the wall leading to the death of the victim”.

“On her own part, the woman at the centre of the crisis Titilayo Olayiwola denied having any amorous relationship with the deceased, she explained that the suspect has abandoned her in the house for the past eight months with an instruction to the gateman to be monitoring her and to give him information if he sees her with any man.

“She stated further that the victim was a cobbler leaving within the area and on that day, the deceased’s girlfriend came to pay him visit and since he is not living alone, he decided to bring the girl to a room in the house due to his closeness to the family.

“But as soon as the gateman saw him, he alerted the husband who rushed to the house and descended heavily on the deceased without listening to any explanation from her and the girlfriend to the victim”.

PPRO however, explained that corpse of the deceased has been deposited to the morgue of a General Hospital in the state for post mortem examination, while the command’s Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has also ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for discreet investigation and prosecution of the suspect.
