Redeemer University Floats Radio Station
The Redeemer’s University, Ede will Thursday commission its FM radio station on 103.5 frequency as part of programmes lined up for the 10th convocation ceremonies of the institution.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Z. Debo Adeyewa while delivering his address at the Pre-convocation press conference of the institution said the radio station that would be community based will be managed by the Mass Communication Department of the institution.
The Vice Chancellor disclosed that out of the 422 that would receive first decree honous on the convocation day, 27 graduands will bag first class honours while 160 are in the second Class Upper Division, 178 are graduating with Second Class Lower while 57 others will bag third Class and Pass degrees.
As part of its commitment to give back to Ede, the host community, no fewer than eleven indigene of the community have benefited front full scholarship offered by the institution adding that it is a progresses exercise.
Besides, the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal will be awarded the prestigious degree of Doctor of Management Science (D.Mgt,: Honoris Causal in recognition of his significant contributions to the development of Edeland.through his passionate disposition to education and his open outlook to all and sundry.
The Vice Chancellor said that the Institution would continue to give the society the best products for the development of the Society.
He equally contended that the institution will always be committed to leadership and research for academic excellence.
Professor Adeyewa further stressed that Corporate discipline and research excellence would continue to be the University mission and visions.
Speaking on the institution’s accreditation, he posited that all programs had been fully accredited for the academic excellence.
However on the advent of the Private Universities he contended that the advent had introduced a unique dimension to qualitative higher education in the Nation as it engendering efficient services delivery and promotion of healthy competition.
