Osun 2018: Adeleke Emerges Flag Bearer Of Osun PDP
Announcing the result in Osogbo, the chairman of the gubernatorial primary election committee, Governor Sheriakin Dickson declared the winner of the contest with a total votes of 1569 which gave him the ticket to fly the flag of the party at general election.
According to him, Ademola Adeleke poll 1569 votes while his closest rival, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi who came second poll 1,562 and the former secretary to the state government, Alhaji Fatai Akinade Akinbade poll 56 with Chief Nathaniel Oke scoring 3 votes.
Before the commencement of the election, seven of the eleven aspirants cleared for the exercise stepped down from the race.
Adeleke from Ede in Osun West senatorial district will now slug it out with All Progressives Congress candidate, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola and others at the governorship election slated for September 22, 2018.
The chairman of the electoral committee urged the other contestants to support the party’s flag bearer to ensure victory for PDP in Osun State.
