Task Force Nabs 10 Motorcycle Riders, Impounded 120

The operatives of the Lagos State Task Force on Thursday arrested ten commercial motorcycle riders and impounded one hundred and twenty motorcycles at Mile 2 and Ijesha area of the state.

It was gathered that, the enforcement operations was carried out on the directive of Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi.

According to the Chairman of the Agency , Olayinka Egbeyemi, a Superintendent of Police(SP), the enforcement operation was  carried out after several warning to motorcycle operators to desists from operating on restricted routes particularly on highways and bridges across the state.

He said, “Illegal activities of these motorcycle riders, operators were on the increased as they now constitute public nuisance around 2nd rainbow towards mile 2 and Ijesha Bus-stop.

“While some of them harassed innocent members of the public at various bus-stops others engage in all sorts of criminal acts by dispossessing their passengers of valuables materials such as phone, jewelries and bags.

Egbeyemi, then advised motorcycle riders/operators to properly screen and edge out criminals amongst their membership and educate others to stop plying any of the restricted 375 routes which includes highways and bridges across the state.
