Anambra PDP Sacks Nwosu, Anenih For Gross Misconduct
The Anambra State Peoples Democratic Party caretaker committee led by Chief Humphrey Nsofor has suspended the former state caretaker committee chairman and secretary, Prof. ABC Nwosu and Iyom Josephine Anenih over alleged gross misconduct and breach of the party constitution.
Other member of the state working committee included Ozo Chike Nwazojie (secretary), Chief Vitals Okafor, legal adviser (South), Mr. Chris Amah, Publicity secretary (South), Hon. (Mrs.) Geneviv Ekwochi, Women leader (central), Mr. Onyeka Okeke, youth leader (Central), Chief Daniel Nwabueze, Organizing secretary (North), Hon. Tony Ngaji C, Financial Secretary (north), Hon. Uchenu Oforkansi, treasurer (North) and Hon. (Mrs.) Tonia Nwankwu, Auditor (North).
Part of the resolution read; that in line with section 57(3) of PDP constitution, Prof. ABC Nwosu and Mrs. Josephine Anenih are suspended for one month for breaching section 58(1) (A) (D) (H) (I) of the party’s constitution by engaging in dishonest practices and conduct likely to cause disaffection amongst party members and creating a parallel party organ at the state level.
They accused the duo of conniving with former governor of the state, Mr. Peter Obi to sideline the stakeholders from the scheme of things in the party.
“Consequently, a 7-man disciplinary committee members led by Chief Okechukwu Okpara has been set up to look into these issues. They are hereby requested to appear before the committee within seven days.
Accordingly, the committee declared in an unequivocal terms that all appointments made by the former chairman, Prof. ABC. Nwosu was a nullity and of no effect”.
However, the 27 members of the committee reaffirmed their implicit confidence on the national caretaker committee chairman led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi (CON) and the South East Zonal leader, Chief Austin Umali.
The group expressed their commitment to make sure that PDP won the November 18 governorship poll in the state.
