HAJJ: NAHCON Places Kebbi In Category A

The National Hajj commission of Nigeria has placed Kebbi state in category A which will enable the state enjoy some privileges to be provided by the commission during the pilgrimage.

A statement signed by chief press secretary to the state governor Alh. Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari and made available to newsmen yesterday said this was stated in a letter sent to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu by secretary of the commission Dr. Mohammed Bello Tambuwal  .

According to the commission with placement of the state in category A, it could participate in organising the lesser Hajj (Umrah) .

Other conditions included establishment of a travel agency and possession of Internal Air Transport Association Certificate (IATA).

The commission appealed to governor Atiku Bagudu to provide necessary resources to the state pilgrims welfare agency to enable it discharge its duties effectively.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu expressed delight over the development assuring that the government would continue to perform it’s statutory duty towards the upliftment of Hajj Affairs and ensuring the comfort of pilgrims.
