Ekiti APC Warns Members Against Hate Campaign

The Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Kemi Olaleye, has warned members against hate campaigns and politics of bitterness that can ruffle party cohesion ahead of party  primary in the run up to 2018 governorship election.
In a statement by the Publicity Secretary of the party, Taiwo Olatunbosun, Olaleye gave the charge while addressing some members  at the party secretariat on Wednesday (today).

She also canvassed for unity and comradeship among members, particularly the aspirants, whom she charged must ensure their campaigns are issue-based.

Warning that the party will not hesitate to apply appropriate sanctions against erring members,
she frowned against the use of abusive words against members that is trending on social media, saying such worrisome development must stop henceforth.
Olaleye said that the party was appreciative of the aspirants who had so far visited the party office to interact with the party secretariat staff.

She explained that so far, no fewer than eight  aspirants from different parts of the state had visited  the party secretariat to indicate their interest to contest the governorship primary ahead of  the 2018 governorship  election. Therefore, the purported publication in some media  that only one aspirant visited the state office of our party was not true.
Urging party leaders and members to lend support for the strengthening of the party to ensure victory in subsequent elections, Olaleye said:
“The party office is open to all members, and as officers of the party, we are always available to serve the interest of the party and party members.”
Meanwhile, the party has directed the office of the State Publicity Secretary to register all APC social media platforms for effective moderation to guide against activities that can cause disaffection among the rank and file of the party.
This, the party said, is to ensure harmonious relationship among members in the overall interest of the party to ensure victorious outings in the next rounds of polls.
