2 Injured , As Hoodlums Clash During Voting In Ibadan
No fewer than two people were injured on Saturday when suspected hoodlums clashed in Ibadan during the governorship and House of Assembly election at Adelabu compound polling units.
The hoodlums numbering about 50 had arrived the Oke Odo polling, ward 9, Oke Odo in Ibadan North East Local Government Area as early as 8am waiting for the arrival of the APC governorship candidate.
On arrival to cast his vote, the suspected hoodlums blocked his way.
After casting his votes about 45 minutes later, he was again delayed by the hoodlums who insisted that they have to be ‘settled’.
At a point, the polling units became rowdy as eligible voters and journalists have to take cover until they left but not until they were settled.
Immediately, there was clash among the hoodlums during which two were injured.
Adelabu had arrived the polling unit amidst wide jubilation from the people especially members of his family compound before casting his vote.
Also, at Olomi in Ona Area Local Government Area of the state, there was reported sporadic shooting.
It was gathered the security operatives have been drafted to the area to ensure safety of lives and property.
